Lightroom 5 Beta accidentally announced

Given that I'm only using LR as a cataloging program, I doubt I'll be spending any money on the newer version. But I said this same thing when CS6 came out, so who know....

Me three. Figure I'll give it a once over, but like Dave I'll probably forgo upgrading unless I find I can do it for a song and the add'l features are things I can't live without.

I think the upgrades are quite significant..
The healing brush now need not be circular... Any shape and size..
Straightening a photo to make it look upright will definitely help.
The radial filter to induce darkness to make the subject prominent is something all of us would've wanted to do at some point or other...
And a full screen mode - finally!
Very interesting

Lightroom is such a fundamental tool that I can't imagine NOT upgrading. Since LR and PS share Camera RAW we should also be expecting an upgrade to Photoshop.

Actually, we got the RAW 7.4 upgrade just a couple weeks ago. It was included in Lightroom 4.4

Right! And historically a new version of RAW is simultaneously released with a major release of LR and corresponding PS. So I would expect Camera RAW 8 to be in LR5/PS CS7.

Soooo Glad that I made the switch to lightroom 2 weeks ago! I also just paid for my full version as the trial version had me sold. Now after playing around with the LR5 Beta this evening, I am really liking it! I like how the repair brush works like the one in Apple's Aperture did!

The Radial filter looks nice and I see myself playing around with that tool.

These few videos are good to explain that:

I really hope they make it easy and affordable to make the upgrade for those of us that just upgraded to LR4 recently.
