Lens compatibility.

Hello I'm new with Nikon and was wondering if the lens Nikon DX VR AF-P Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G was compatible with my d750. Any insight would be appreciated.

It will work with the D750. Since it's a DX (crop) lens on a full frame body, you would probably want to set the D750 to shoot in Crop Mode.

Yes, you'll definitely want a full frame (FX) lens for your D750. With a DX lens attached, you will be getting something like 12 MP out of your full frame sensor.

When I first bought my D750, I still kept my DX format D7000 as a 2nd body. I experimented with my Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 (DX) on the D750. That was a case where a great DX lens became a very poor lens used on a FX body.

When I later traded away the D7000 I sent every last DX lens I had with it. Rule of thumb: FX lens on DX body, no problem. DX lens on FX body, all compromises.

Nikon has a Compatibility Chart available online. It lists limited compatibility - not sure if that means the VR can't be turned off. Maybe someone knows about the limitation.

The foot notes at the bottom for some reason do not contain a legend for the asterisk or the dot in the E-type field. As far as AF-P lens I believe the requirement is for the latest software version. Here is a more detailed write up limitations https://www.dslrbodies.com/lenses/lens-articles/general-nikon-lens-info/understanding-the-af-p.html
