Day 49

Went looking for some inspiration and came across this in the garden.
My flatmate doing "macro" photography. I just had to share as it is such a spontaneous photo with no technical merit whatsoever. LOL

Day 50

For some reason I have a lot to choose from today.
The one I like best is the one of my flatmates D3200. I was trying some low key stuff and like the effect.

Nice shots today. Odds and Sods? Never heard that expression before.

Day 51

Already?

Took quite a few photos and all were bluh. Chose what I think is the best "bluh"
But can't make up my mind if I actually like it at all.
I was practising "leading lines" but this leads to nowhere exciting.

Version 1 - as shot.

Version 2 - monochrome

Why can't i get to page 28? The site has been weird this whole week

Edit: I had to type this in before the page would turn????

Had that problem yesterday and once today,it may be to do with the site updating on the server ocasionaly showing a page number before it can produce it

Day 52

Experiment to test 70-300 in low light. Went out late (7.40 pm) for a walk along river.
The result of the experiment is all photos are grainy.
Duh are you surprised?

Ducks enjoying the last rays of light.

Then I thought they needed a bit of training.

Note to self when looking back:
All photos looked much clearer in camera and I have concluded that my camera overexposes by at least half a stop. Something I have suspected for a while. Have adjusted it accordingly and will observe any differences.

Day 45

Life is a learning curve and this game can bring you down to earth.
I did an indoor GIG of a mate's band playing at a pub. Using only my 35mm prime.
Photos all looked great in camera but when I got them on the computer all were underexposed.
I guess the note to self is "Study the histogram"
All in all I am very disappointed in the results. 141 photos and all shyte really.

Anyway here are a couple. If I was good at PP I might be able to rescue a few.

The first one is the mate - probably ex mate now!

Is it a band requirement that their t-shirt matches their equipment? ;)

Yay, awesome shots Lawrence!!

Thanks Mai - I enjoyed myself today and have several other shots. Seems it was one of those days that whatever i took turned out OK.
pretty happy with the results but I need to start doing something a little bit more artistic.
Baby steps. At least I am learning to control things. After yesterdays shoot I have seed a -0.5 exposure compensation because I felt my camera is overexposing and the results today showed I was on the right track.
What will tomorrow bring?
