Avoiding the last minute rush today.
I stepped outside this morning and the sun filtering through the trees on to the Indian Silk Tree made these flowers call out to me.

Thanks Scott. It was just there and I thought the lighting looked interesting. Turned out better than I thought.
Funny how you can go in search of a great subject and not find it and then other times you look up and something is right there in front of you.

I really like this shot. I think if it were lit just a little differently it could be just amazing! This jug has shape and detail. It needs some interesting shadows to set it off. Maybe a portrait orientation to get more of the jug in frame. And maybe get that curtain or drape out of the right of the frame.

Life is a learning curve and this game can bring you down to earth.
I did an indoor GIG of a mate's band playing at a pub. Using only my 35mm prime.
Photos all looked great in camera but when I got them on the computer all were underexposed.
I guess the note to self is "Study the histogram"
All in all I am very disappointed in the results. 141 photos and all shyte really.

Anyway here are a couple. If I was good at PP I might be able to rescue a few.

The first one is the mate - probably ex mate now!

I dont think your friend are gonna breake up! First - no need giving them 141 images. Second, they are not as bad as you make them :)

Having slept on it I think I am more disappointed in myself for not looking at the histogram. I could have shot at f/1.8 and had better results.
And of course you are right I will find 10 or 12 to give them and hope they are happy.

A quick recce a few hours before produced a great spot from which to shoot
