Day 35

Indoors most of the day working so only just woke up to the fact that nothing done yet!
Threw together a room studio. Comprising black tee shirt propped up by pillow with subject on T shirt!
Only light is what is shining through the window.
Took a few, in various positions, but I think this is the best one.

Day 37

Friends arrived unexpectedly so planned photo walk scarpered. Shot a few clouds and now going to have a few beers.

Looks like we could have a great sunset tonight.

I love these types of clouds. Every time I see them I grab my camera and head out. These really work well using Nik Tools.

NIK tools is cropping up all the time. I really need to spend time learning Elements 11 and then see what else will help my photos ….

Perfect subject to learn about DoF. Now shoot a fence from tripod and focus on the same spot each time but change the aperture and see the difference.

Then for fun try Focus stacking.

Focus stacking?

Focus stacking is taking a number of photos at different focus points and putting them together with only the in focus parts.

OK will show you an example. In the shot below I took a close shot of the first meter. see, you can read the time left. Then I refocused on the second meter and took a shot, then the third meter and so forth till I shot a shot on the buildings way in the background. Now in a single shot it would be impossible to get it all in focus. I PhotoShop you can "Stack" photos and only the in focus parts will be in the final photo.

That is very cool Don but I am afraid my photoshop skills fall way short of that!

I will try to do a step by step soon. It is really easier than it sounds.

Don I would be interested in that too. I kind of had an idea of how but just haven't tried it yet. I will need to find something else that will merge the photos because I dont have photoshop.

An interesting urban playground. I wouldn't like to be the kid that comes off this swing!

Day 40

and what a day it has been ….. ?

Went to a place I had never even heard of and spent the entire day shooting. Have lots of questions for those good at shooting water but for now...

Note it has a new block.

After a short lunch it rose to get back to work...

Oops .. overcooked the grass there a bit - forgive me please.

I thought I enjoyed photography and my Nikon but after today whatever it was I had before is like nothing.
