Day 34

I spent over an hour deleting photos today - man I need a lot of practice (not learning to delete, but learning to take photos)!

So for this day's shots some rather boring images as I try to master the DOF of my 35mm prime.

I need to study the DoF chart I have seen on the forum. And try to retain what I learn - always the hard part.

@Lawrence, dont worry as we all delete pictures. At least I know I do and taking pictures will help remedy that for you. Since August I have taken around 4700 pictures with my D600, before that I had my D7000 for a year and hit the 10k mark. Practice, practice and more practice.

Day 35

Indoors most of the day working so only just woke up to the fact that nothing done yet!
Threw together a room studio. Comprising black tee shirt propped up by pillow with subject on T shirt!
Only light is what is shining through the window.
Took a few, in various positions, but I think this is the best one.

I have a Dof calculator on the phone (windows). It helps out in a pinch. Gives the hyperfocal, DoF, and an acceptable sharpness range. It's kinda fun to play with.
I believe it is called focal plane.

While out taking photos, I will set up the camera to what I think is needed for the shot. I will then pull out the phone and use the app as a double check.

That's nice. The black background makes it stand out very nicely.

Day 36

WOW what a day I have had!

Cut a long story short I offered to do some photos for a lady who has a dog grooming business. Sold her on the fact that she could use the photos to promote her business.
Not sure if she saw right through the fact that I just want to photograph her or if she really believed me. Anyway the day was today and I went over there this morning.
I showered and shaved and put my best casual "I'm not trying to score or anything" clothes on and headed over.

She works out of a small cabin and the only light was from a window which was far too close to the subject for good photos but nowhere close enough for me to get to her (if you know what I mean) ;) So some of the following were taken from inside the cabin and some from outside where I was standing on a chair with my head through the window (a position which completely neutralised the afore mentioned outfit - I might add!)

Anyway ……..

Who's a pretty girl then LOL.jpg

A quick question for you guys. She may want to use these photos on her face book (business) page. Do I give her the photos with the watermark for that or clear photos?

Looks good. I like it when people make do with what they have on hand and it turns out good.

Call me crazy, but your cloud formations look like ice formations. While my cloud formations are releasing ice formations. Crazy I tell you. Just crazy.
