Day 98

Not much on offer today because I want to try some HDR with no software.

First image is a of prescription drugs I haven't taken. I detest medicine in chemical form and over the years there are hundreds of prescriptions that I haven't bothered to collect and then when I do I am reluctant to take them for fear of side effects.
I have been seeing a Naturopath for 2 months and he has done what doctors have failed to do in 20 years so this lot went into the toilet this morning.

Then some berries in the shrubs I spotted before taking my potential HDR photos.

Potential HDR - untouched as yet.
Not even sure if there is enough contrast but the sky will be improved.
Happy to hear any expert opinion.

I am acutely aware that my photography is stagnant and I need to step it up a notch or seven.

And how is it stagnant?

I am not doing anything new although I am learning a lot more about my camera and finding the time to change settings. When I first got the camera there was no time to do anything - I just had to shoot first and groan later.
I look at some of the really artistic photos on here and they are vey motivational and quite frankly have little, if anything, to do with gear.
Maybe I ail become more creative as we go into winter and I am forced to dig deep.

Once you learn your camera and what its capable of thats when the creativity juices start flowing, try anything and everything to see where your passion lies. My photography for one comes in spits and spats, just think of the great painters they did not come up with anything for months even years at times. You capture great moments and I like your photos but if you think you are stagnant then start pushing yourself with different things, read and look at others photos. Chase the light and see what you come up with ;)

Quick HDR with above after watching a 3 minute youtube video.
Not great but that is because my PS E11 skills still need attention

Very rough HDR LOL.jpg

Lots wrong with it I know - like over burnt foliage on right bank - but at least I know a form of HDR can be done with no software.
I'm bearing all here people.

Day 99

I am going to visit and have dinner with my son. Will take my camera and I am sure take some photos but do not want to feel under pressure and will only get home at about midnight.
I took a couple of shots where I bought my lunch so will post one here to relieve any pressure I might feel later. There may be more to follow.

Hot Cross Buns LOL.jpg

These looked very yummy.

Hot-cross-buns! These are popular in the UK around Easter, nice when hot with some cheese! :strawberry:

Day 100

I have been quite busy with some research (getting somewhere slowly) so photography has slowed down. I also want to start being a bit more arty farty (suspect the coming winter will help with this)
so instead for the normal shot from me I tried a long exposure. I tried one at 2.5 secs and one at 5.0 secs and can't really tell the difference.
This is the close up. Can you guess what it is?

Not really happy with it but am happy that I am "branching out"

Now I know you Kiwi's and the Aussies like to be ahead of the rest of us, but how did you get all the way to day 100 already? Here on the northern hemisphere calendar 4/8 is day 98. And those of you down under might already be on 4/9 day 99 because you're all over achievers. But how did you Kiwis pull so far away that you're now on day 100 which for the rest of us would be 4/10? :)
