Added some new flowers to the yard this weekend, time to practice so I can enter the monthly competition.

Nice timing on that last one! Double play or just a blocked running lane? Either way looks like the baseman may have learned a valuable lesson in get out of the way.

Yep, thats my son in Red, he won't cut them any slack. No double play, he disrupted the whole thing on the stolen base and after the crash he got up and stole 3rd as well. The first picture is him on 3rd after the second picture.

Thanks.

Good for him! Last time I played ball if a baseman was in the running lane, well what could you do? Why run through them of course!

Playing with the new lens and doing some extreme cropping. Need to make sure I can hold this for a shoot I have to do tonight, wish I had more time but I think I will be able to keep it steady. I would say these are close to a 100% crop and they are from around 30 feet away, maybe a little less. It does really make we want to add a TC now.

So far speed, and bokeh are noticeable to me. Speed meaning it focuses faster, at least it seems that way to me. I won't get to test the extra stop till next week when we have a night game. Main reason for getting this is to help deal with the extra noise in bad situations. Not a pixel peeper, but really want to get the best I can out of my equipment. 3 boys in sports, one football, one baseball, one in wrestling and really needed the extra stop due to poor lighting. If I didn't need the extra stop then I would have passed on the lens as the F4 is a great lens.

You made a great choice. I can appreciate your motivation. I'm seriously thinking about taking the plunge and getting the 24-70. I need a true walk-around lens. What's your feeling about that lens?

After I recover from this lens that will be next on my list. I need the focal range first, so maybe next year I can get the 24-70 unless I find a deal I can't pass on.

But you already got 24-85. Why pay 24-85 more? I don't see all that much difference is speed or length.

Constant aperture for the main part. I am planning to do more sessions so dont want to be limited by aperture. I have a couple of primes that i use so no rush for 24-70 unless a deal comes up. The 24-85 was part of the kit and its nice lens but I just dont like the variable aperture. 24-85 will be traded in at time of purchase, but again no rush to replace to it.

Yesterday was for the birds. Playing with 3D and Auto ISO to try and catch birds in flight. I think I was actually better off using single point but will play again with it.

And this is the result of a Out of the Park Grand Slam home run. My son on the far right and this was his first Grand Slam and only second out of the park.
