This goose was sitting so quietly, he let me get close enough for a few shots, but I didn't want to disturb him too much. Good thing for a 500mm lens!

Yes it is an Osprey. We have many of them nesting every year in this valley. I just spotted another amazing nest that I am going to hike over to get pics of, just the nest itself is awesome.

I went out to a nest, climbed the hill to try get a level view, and was lucky to get this shot of the pair mating. It was the first time I has witness this, let alone photographed it.

I saw the Loons across little Munn Lake, so I set up a blind of sorts, settled in, and waited. It was not long before they came to check me out!

I learn something new every day... There really are birds called Loons. I just thought they were Coins.

It must be a very large lake, around here, there are many mountain lakes that are quite small, and only one mated pair of loons live at each one. They are very territorial. I would love to see this Loon Lake. I take my kayak to the lakes here and get some very close pics of them. It is a great experience to have them pop up out of the water right beside you.
