I do try using manual focus as well for any still, or slower shot, that is also a challenge at times. I am looking forward to seeing some faster speeds, and different modes from you! Good luck with all your endeavorsI really try hard to branch out to the Manual and Shutter, but I love my Aperture mode. I learned how to use that first and have been stuck there ever since. but I hate that find my self missing stuff cause the shutter is to slow where I normally have it. Thank you! Time to push my self to branch out to other modes and not to be so timid when it comes to ISO.
I forgot that I set it to see out the door for half shade half sun, I forgot I set it for outside and didn't change it when I went inside and got a bunch of black shots...
Misti, you'd be surprised at how often even the "pros" do this! It's not a sin.....it happens.![]()
Oh, I can really really relate to that Misti!!! I missed so many shots, but was so happy with the manual results, that when I wasn't taking shots for other people, I would forse myself to keep at it. Now, after many many missed shots, I am very quick at making the necessary adjustments, as I am now familiar with the mechanics of the camera, and the settings needed to obtain the results that I like. The colors are so much more vibrant I find in manual.. Not to say that I don't still miss shots, ( a real piss off I might add! Lol) but they are getting fewer and fewer. Thanks Kim, but today was a sad bust. I tried manual and it worked out the open National Gaurd hanger but I forgot that I set it to see out the door for half shade half sun, I forgot I set it for outside and didnt change it when I went inside and got a bunch of black shots of deploying soldiers I immediately changed it back to the aperture that I was using and didn't dare to do it again until another time. but I did get a couple of really great messing around shots. Thank you for your tips. I will post one later or tomorrow.
These are the babies, lol, they really are getting big, and so fast!! The parents were sitting in a tree just behind me. They must be getting used to me because they would always get cranky when I first started to visit the nest, now they just wait til I leave. I don't stay long when I visit, but I do go often. That is a great shot, that must be the mother. LOl no more paparazzi for today she says.
It is the excitement that gets me too! I have missed so many.lol. I've done it a few times myself, Joe. Specially when I get caught up in the moment/excitement.![]()
I drove past this yesterday on the highway as i was leaving for the coast, and Vancouver Island, just had to stop for a photo.

lol, Thanks Laura., such a nice thing to say!Wish I could throw some multiple 'likes' on some of these. I love them!
I really hope the place isn't occupied! would be a damp existence, and darn COLD in our Canadian winter! Is the old shack occupied?
There are some old places near here that look similar to your photo and people are living in them. It amazes me how they stay warm in winter and cool in summer.
Next time I go up on the mountain I'll get the wife to drive (that will be the hard part) and I'll take pictures out the window.
