Just a few for today

Thought I'd pop outside and take a few shots from around the house, seeing as it's not too cold (-1C) . All shot with the D200 and 18-55 lens, Manual Mode.

Funny you should say that, Don. Out of the three I posted, that's my favourite, too.

I had to go back to it and try to figure out WHY I liked it. I think it is a combination of the out of focus background and the fact that is forms an X. I think that is why it grabs the eye.

It is really not enough to just like something, we have to know why. I think that is the way we grow and learn.

Why do you like it better?

Nice shots Jack, crisp and clear. That's a sweet sensor the D200 one. Great for outdoor shots.

Nice images Jack, but I've a question - what's all that white stuff laying all around your house? Did something spill or ?

Cool shots Bud! I like the first one real well, and I like the fence shadow in that third one with the lines of the deck planks! Way to go Jack! :D

The first one is my favorite, too. I especially like how the glistening sun in the background creates the circular spots...unless they are out-of-focus white lights. Whatever created them, I really like how it adds to the background.

I'll be honest and say I had to click on the photo to get a better view of the image. When I first looked at it, I wasn't sure if the lower left branch was a small scarecrow making the touch-down sign! The two tips of the branches look very much like small hands with fingers!

Huh??? I just realized something--going off topic for a moment--my apology for doing so. I wasn't able to right click on your photo to enlarge it because it is a copyrighted photo, but while I am writing this in the Advanced Reply box, I can see where people quoted your message with the photo. Instead of a photo showing up, it says Attachment 62751. From there I can now right click on Attachment 62751 and open your photo in a new tab and even enlarge it. Just wanted you to know...

I have to say, I'm overwhelmed at the responses for the first shot. Thank you all so much. Made today bearable. :)

My reason for liking the first shot is because they are of two different species. One is an apple tree (rear) and the one in focus is Italian lettuce (radiccio) gone to seed. And..I liked the way the sun highlighted the radiccio. It just looked good to me. :)
