Day 250...I had an old friend I hadn't seen in over 30 years stop by. Still working nights so I came home, slept a couple hours, got up showed him around town, had a bite to eat, went home, back to bed then to work.

Went over to the festival. The first pic is one I took so that it stays legit I suppose.

I have posted a lot of pics of the old train bridge. Crossing it yesterday they are getting ready to turn it and looking for volunteers. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time, so these pics were taken by my old friend.

Turning the bridge.

It takes about 22 revolutions to turn this section of the bridge sideways. A bit harder than I expected. LOL. We had 12 people. The guy supervising told the story about back when the bridge was regularly turned for river traffic it might be 6-8 people from the ship wanting to get through that would have to get off the boat, come ashore, turn the bridge, turn it back and then get back on the boat.

We didn't have to be exact but when this was still a working train bridge they did have to align it back right. At one time there was a sternwheeler 240 feet X 60 that passed underneath. The sternwheel was 40X40. It would have been quite a site to see.

As a bonus.....still yesterday. I'll have to get another throw away for today. LOL

Appx 34 years apart. I think I still look the same. LOL

Yeah, it was my GTO. I bought it two weeks after graduating high school in 1979.

day 256. Spent all day at the Oil and Gas festival. My daughter marched in the parade. She is in the High School band. I tried to get a piece of candy and was beat out every time.

Day 258. I wish I was more energetic. I can get this old horse barn for nothing but I'm not in the mood to take apart. clean, drag home and re-build it.

Can you get a crane to lift it onto a truck and reposition at yours? It looks to good to pass up

I have to think it would most likely fall apart. The walls are cement. They just butt up to each other and then iron bars wrap around it to hold it together.

I dunno......I might try and talk my sons into it. LOL

Ah...yes...I can see now that it probably WOULD fall apart :D It's such a pretty little barn (or is it big?). Would be quite a nice garden feature I think. I can understand the lack of motivation tho. Sometimes jobs look just too big or involved but if you get in and do them you wonder why you made such a fuss :D
