Thanks Scott and Danno, the Goanna was a bonus for the end of the day, I was heading back to the computer to download my shots, and there he was at the front door. Gave me a bit of a surprise too :)

You have some amazing critters around your place... I would say that would be a shock.

Some flowers in the garden, taken with the Sigma 50-150. I am really taking a liking to this lens.

The lighting was a bit harsh on a couple of them...

Do those goanna ever get aggressive and bite people? Some very nice images btw.

Sorry I just caught the post a couple of posts above. I don't think I could deal with hostile 5 foot long lizards.

Thanks Samo.
The Goannas can get aggressive if they feel threatened, I have seen them attack dogs when they get too close. They normally climb up the nearest tree if you disturb them, but if you are too close to them, they will try and climb up your legs, that's not a good situation to be in, the advice is to lay down so they don't think you are a tree.
The biggest one I have seen was 9 feet long.

My Sons new dog. He is 12 months old now, but has been in a RSPCA shelter for the last 3 months. He is happy to be rescued out of there.

One of my plasma TV's is having problems, shutting itself down after about 10 minutes. I pulled the main power board today to look for problems, checking for bulging capacitors and bad solder joints.
My eyes are not what they used to be so I got out the macro lens and took some closeups of some that looked a bit iffy.

One doesn't look too good there....

A closer look, maybe this is the problem. One of the pins on one of the transformers. Too late now, so a job for tomorrow, a bit of solder and see if it fixes it.
