I'm afraid I couldn't even hazard a guess at how many different species I have photographed here Vixen.I know we live about 1000km apart Brad, but it looks like your garden is very similar to mine vegetation wide. I was wondering how many different birds you have seen on your property. Do you keep count?

And just when I think I might have got them all, an odd one comes out of the blue like yesterday.
I think when I eventually do retire , I will get some that I don't normally see when I am about now.
Good idea Vixen, I might do the same. Off to look for a good chart now......I copied an excel table of birds from one of the Aussie birdwatching websites............

Yes the birds are all hiding at the moment, the trees are starting to bend in the wind now, and more to come. It's looking like we might get a bit of a blow from Cyclone Debbie in the morning. Hoping it's going to turn, but it keeps tracking towards us.I do the bathing bird survey and birds in backyards survey every year. It's not very involved and as I'm out taking bird photos quite often in the afternoon anyway I don't find it hard at all
Bit wild n wet for birdwatching up the right now tho![]()

Vixen, do you remember which website you got that chart from, I couldn't find anything this morning.
That tested the memory and my googling skills but I found it. You need the Challenge Count spreadsheet 2016 linked for download on this page Challenge Count | BirdLife
