Ironwoods Backyard Critters

The sun was getting too low by the time I got home for the Tamron 150-600, so I switched to the 105 macro lens.

I managed to find a few insects but they were few and far between, the temperature is starting to drop now, so that may have something to do with it.

Thanks Scott.

I dropped my shutter speed back down to 1/250 today, I have been using 1/320, I think my photos look today better for some reason. (could be just my imagination too )
I have done similar, my reasoning is so that I can get more colour coming in from the background.

Great shots Brad.
A fun catch up for me. You have come a loooooong way with your macros

Cheers Lawrence.
The last couple of days I have gone back to my Old 55mm macro lens, I have a renewed liking for the old girl, its harder to use than my 105mm, but its giving me a better satisfaction with my photos.

I put the Nikon 105 back on today, took the UV filter off, and used the diffuser that I made for the 55 lens.
I am starting to wonder if the UV filter was degrading the images I have been taking with this lens, they seem a bit better today without the filter.
I need to make sure its not me or my technique, or something like the filter, because I have been thinking about selling this lens, and buying a Sigma 105.

I used a bit more sharpening in PP than I normally do as well, hope its not too much.

Not too much about at my place today, even though its not real cold it still is winter, so that may explain the lack of activity.
Did manage to find this spider though, and he sat still while I snapped a few shots off.
