Only had a minute before the defrosters ruined the photo, so Samsung work-issued phone had to take the pic. I had used windshield washer fluid to clear the overnight frost, and it then flash-froze to this pattern.

Crapola iPhone image of the poppies. The trailhead has been closed thanks to the disaster that was the super-bloom a few years ago.
This picture reminded me of those times years ago when the Harley Owners Group (HOG) chapter to which I belonged did an annual ride through the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. In good years, it was a breathtaking sight. I never took a single picture...shame on me!

@bluzman The bloom in 2019 was jaw-dropping. I live near Walker Canyon and can see the hillsides riding through town. I would love to go see some of the other areas, but I have no desire to fight the Instagram crowds. The bloom this year isn't even close to the 2019 season.
I got a few images in 2019, but I am not a great landscape photographer. I need to work on that.
Glad you made good memories even if you didn't get images.

I don't remember ever seeing a shadow cast like this one. I didn't have my D500 with me, so I had to use the pano on my iPhone to get this. I changed it to black and white because the image was quite blue. I can't remember if the shadow cast looked as blue as in the image.
