I like the D810 as it is. If they add another wheel, they will add more crap too. It already got a pop-up flash which is more than enough uselessness.

The D750 is a good example of what happens when they add "consumer" features on a cam which should not have had them.

You can save the banks to the card so even after changing something during shooting, you can simply load the previous back.

But like I said, I have little use for them so it doesn't bother me.

Every cam has something someone doesn't need or lacks something someone wants. There's no such thing as a perfect cam for all.

What matters to me is that the D810 blows me away at ISO 64. The rest is of less importance.

I don't quite understand this thread. The D810 has 4 user defined remembered setting (banks A,B,C & D) which you can put up to a 20 character description on, called Custom Setting Banks. Maybe this isn't what you are after, but it seems to be. Page 304 of manual.

The D300, D300s, D700 also have these Custom Setting Banks. I use one on D300 for underwater and another for land, but on that have to remember which is which :).

its exactly what the thread is about , if you set up any of those four memory banks open them up and then change something that is your new memory bank when you change modes or shut down , it doesnt revert to you initial set up when you reopen unlike user one and two in the d7100

Those that are more interested in photography, I feel are those that know that every scene changes. When you are working in a controlled environment, I am sure that those u1,u2 settings are helpful to you. However for the majority that is going to be using the camera where the environment and lighting is constantly changing would have a better grasp in adjusting settings to match the situation.
While not everyone will be shooting in manual and adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture at all times, others may simply use aperture priority, or shutter priority to do what they need it to do. These are the ones that know that the reason why they stepped into using a DSLR for photography is for the adjustability of settings and not to be held back by something other than a point and shoot camera.

I say if you don't like the features of the D810 then move on to a model that gives you the features you desire. If you like the D7100 features then stay with it.
