Glenn's post amplifies the point I was about to make. Having never been, I thought the pyramids were far more remote, but the town seems to be right on top of it. The amount of light pollution from the buildings nearby is amazing.
Thanks for posting the link. I'm going to show the photos to my students today. Since I work with at-risk kids who mostly are also delinquents, they will appreciate the risk that was taken to get these photos.
In a country like Egypt where corruption runs rampant it is amazing what a little cash in the right pocket will get you. I bet they paid a pretty penny to get those.
