Glenn's post amplifies the point I was about to make. Having never been, I thought the pyramids were far more remote, but the town seems to be right on top of it. The amount of light pollution from the buildings nearby is amazing.

The shot where he has the camera set on a small tripod right on the edge is scarey. About a wind gust from going over the edge.
