The rougher stuff started hitting here around 3pm. It has gotten very windy and the rain is cold. When I got home around 6pm my body was soaked to the bone. I did have dry feet though. As I write the winds are picking up and Tomorrow is another day.

Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers . . . be safe. My old stomping grounds . . . spent my teenage and childhood years on the "jersey shores" . . . sigh

I'm glad we don't have big government around to help us with this crap! LOL Wait a minute that ain't funny.

BTW USA citizens...your taxes and your insurance is fixing to go up big time...plus bacon too!

Why bacon, Jeff? What did I miss?
Earlier in the week, it was widely reported that 2013 would bring a “bacon shortage,” as rising pork prices would eventually drive up demand for bacon to the point where it would be almost impossible to find. However, even after falling for the story themselves, NBC News is reporting that the bacon shortage is hogwash. Yet it seems that the price of bacon is continually rising, according to my wife.

Thank you! :) I was afraid it was because Hurricane Sandy wiped out a bunch of pig farms.

It closed Wall Street so they didn't make a gazillion dollars today...so tomorrow they are going to double down! Try to find some cheap bacon in NYC today I dare you! :)

The storm is terrible but fortunately I don't think it is going to cause a lot of death.

38 is nothing compared to Katrina or the Joplin tornado especially considering the population density of the area affected.

Do you actually think before you post something?

If that inconsequential 38 included your children, or someone else from your family, would you think it was "nothing"? Nothing?

Do you actually read what is posted Ted? "considering the population density of the affected area"

People die of all sorts of crap every minute of every day.

It could have been a helluva lot worse.

Besides who are you the be all and end all to all discussions? My opinion is just as good as yours man. This is America remember?

I've got a colleague working in Cleveland. He contacted us this afternoon to say that power was down and its pretty wet and cold, but otherwise ok.

Unfortunately my electric has been out since last night. A tree fell on the wires going to my house and although the power is back on all around me I still don't have any juice. Blah. Luckily I was able to borrow a generator to keep the fridge cold.

I'm glad the site is hosted in Texas! I'll be back in full swing shortly.

Have you gotten your power back yet? I live towards the top of CT and we aren't to effected up here but the coastline is devastated.
