Here's another one I did of the chili peppers. I think its about time to buy the software lol photomatix or Lightroom 5...?

I use Photomatix and LR 5. Although, I've only done a few HDRs thus far (just getting started).

Adorama has LR5 on sale for $99 right now.

Photomatix has a pretty substantial discount if you are an educator or enrolled in school. I'm an adjunct at ITT, and the discount was like 40 something %

Check out the bottom of their order page at hdrsoft.com/order.php for special pricing. It doesn't specifically state Military, but it might not hurt to ask.

My opinion, and mine only... I would start with Lightroom... You will use that on all of your pictures and also as a management tool. Photomatix is not going to be used for everything (primarily HDR/Tone Mapping) so that would be my 2nd purchase.

Now if some of you don't have a good photo shop program. I use the new corel program. it has HDR and single photo tonemapping included for around $40.

I see where you are coming from, Lightroom had more functionality than photomatix... I will definitely look into it. Thank you Rocky.

O any photomatix doesnt offer military discounts.... Kinda left a bitter taste is my mouth since they off discounts to students.

Don't feel bad, many of us are in the discount void!

I'm a middle age hard working guy, which means I don't qualify for anything.

-Served when I was younger, discounts only for "active"
-Too old for youth discounts
-Too youthful for senior discounts
-Work too many hours to go back to school, no student discount. The first 16 years doesn't count!
-Pay through the nose for healthcare because I work too hard and make good money. If I choose not to work, it would be free!

Welcome to the discount void! :)

Todays HDR.... 5 shot bracketed at 2.0...

A storage shed at Nashua Parks Maintenance... Bright day and the inside was extremely dark.. HDR fixed that
and I tried to keep it near Natural, not too "cooked"

Here are 3 photos. The first one is the middle shot of 5. The second is 5 shot HDR 1ev increment. The third is the HDR photo with a small touch of local tone mapping.
