Ok, I have finally finished my 3 entries....

RockyNH - Entry 1

This was my plan, did a couple shots before but they all had issues... Moved the furniture around to get the tripod in today and get the shot....

it was the light reflections that originally caught my eye. I ended up needing to
use the 18-55 at 18 to get the shot

RockyNH - Entry2

You will note the similarity to Entry 1. When I was looking at setup for #1
last week, I ended up doing a tight crop on Santa and liked it. The entry is not
a crop from #1, it is it's own picture. I set the tripod lower and ended up using
my 35mm f/1.8. (tried with the 50mm but could not get enough in the shot)

Enjoy....

RockyNH - Entry 3

Ok, here is the last one.... My wife has a setup on the snack bar...
I moved all the objects away except the ones in the photo. I then took a tall
item and lifted the cotton at the back over the object... Intent was to have the
3 mouse figurines look as if they were in the snow...

I tried both the 50mm and the 35, preferring the image from the 35.
Shot at 200 ISO, f/1.8

Thats all for me... Good luck to all the entries...

Really nice, Pat. I particularly like the first one. Could definitely be a Christmas card. I might have preferred a little more DoF on the second, though I understand how Santa is where you want the viewer's attention.

BTW, I thought it was against the code of conduct in NH not to go out and chop down your own tree? ;)

Thanks Jake, appreciate the likes and the constructive comments. I see what you mean on Dof.. I was compromising between high ISO and large aperture.. it was dark (like 6am). But then again, I was on the tripod so I could have adjusted more. I sometimes forget I need not worry so much about ISO when on a tripod with a remote release.. Good comment, though yes, santa was the focal..

Tree??? What?? You mean it is not real?? My wife lied then, she told me she went out and chopped it down... ;)

I just wanted to add something to keep the "spirit" up. I've been busy with the last minute shopping and doing some of the errands. Happy Holidays to all.
