Help with crop in Lightroom 3 needed

Hello all,
I have been using Lightroom 3 for a couple of years but still can't find anything to alter the way the dragging works when in the crop module. When you have resized your image and then want to move the crop rectangle the grab cursor works but in the opposite direction to the mouse movement. Is there any way of changing a setting somewhere so that when you drag the mouse the crop rectangle moves in the same direction? Thanks

Too my knowledge, the answer is no. In essence, what you are doing is moving the picture itself behind the crop window.. so look at moving the picture left and it makes sense.. sorry.

Hi Martin,
I think I know what you're seeing, If I'm right, you have defined the crop outline on the screen and you're trying to get it to the desired spot on the image. You're expecting the cursor to shift the crop box around on the screen, but in reality you're shifting the picture beneath it. Awkward to get used to but effective just the same.

I won't know for sure until I get home tonight and actually play with LR a little.

I just tired this in LR 3.6 and it does not work the way you say yours does. My grab cursor moves the image in the same direction as the mouse travels.

I think you are a little mistaken though. When you set the crop rectangle to the size you want and then use the grab cursor to move the image, the image itself is moving, not the crop box.

Okay just had a little play around, and thank you for all your inputs. I can see now that the image is moving and the crop box is in a fixed position. I decide on the crop area and if it needs a little tweaking then I have to think that the crop is fixed and I need to move the image. So used to years on windows and life when up is up/ down is down/ left is left/ right is right with the mouse. Just need to retrain my brain into this way. Concentrate on the image instead of the crop box, though when the crop box is on the right my brain still says to move the mouse left to shift it over and nothing obviously happens. Mental note, concentrate on the image and not the crop. Thanks again all for the suggestions and time.
