Haven't been seeing much lately. This is the only Blue Heron I have seen in a while.

Jeff, excellent again... I love the background, what was in the background for the shots?? You did amazing with that!

Pat in GA

Pat, they were standing on a pier with a bayou behind them with marsh grass on the other side. I was sitting in my car when I took the picture and wasn't that far away from them. With the background much farther away from me than the subject it makes for a great out of focused back ground. A lot of people only use the longer lenses when shooting at subjects at greater distances but I find that it works very well at the closer distances also by throwing the background more out of focus. Now you have made me blow the whole "took them to my studio" story.

Another great one, have you any thoughts on which is the best body as i see you have used the D600 and D7000.

Mike, I use the D7000 for all the single and far away shots and the D600 for the group or wide angle photos. When I drive around taking pictures I have both of my cameras sitting on my passenger seat. One is the D7000 with the Tamron 150-600mm on it and the D600 has the Tamron 24-70mm on it so I can just grab whichever combination I need for the shot.

That's a great way to go. I do a similar thing with my D7100/Tamzooka and D70/18-300. I can be ready for whatever situation comes my way out in the field from landscapes to distant wildlife.

You have me beat with the D600 and 24-70 for sure. Better camera and better glass. ;)
