Thanks everyone for your comments. I am very limited on subjects around here. I would be one HAPPY PHOTOGRAPHER if I lived near Marilynne and all the different subjects she posts.

Jeff, you do awful well with your "limited" subjects!! :) I wish I had half of yours (justkidding) Keep up the great work, I admire it, critters, lighthouses, shores & bridges... I learn a lot from looking at yours and others and then strive to get close to the same quality!

ps: you want to see limited... soon you will see not much beyond snow from up here!! :)

That would be great if you lived near me. I could be your student, which I notice hasn't been around in a while. I forget his name.

His name is henry but the problem is my granddaughter noticed him in the car a while back and decided he need to be with her. If I was down there we could both be students and learn from each other.

Great Shot Jeff. I believe they have all left here as I have not seen any for two weeks now. There is still one Blue Heron hanging around in his usual spot but that may not last long as he seems to be all alone. Now waiting to see who shows up for the winter.

I haven't been able to get out to take pictures lately so I looked back at some pictures from the past and found this one that was taken with my D90 and 70-300VR lens at ISO 1600 shot handheld.

I love the subject lighting with the spectators in the back, in partial dark and slightly blurred.. Not sure how much was post, but I really like the effect!

This is another picture from The Lion King performance and was also shot with my D90 and 70-300VR lens at ISO 1600. I was about 70ft away. To get some idea how big the lion was, you can compare it to one of the dancers that is in the lower right corner of the image.

Camera (and operator) did a great job them!! :) I like the effect and need to try and achieve that sometime... I imagine most of it was a result of the lighting on your subject!! Thanks for sharing Jeff...

Pat, I really like my D7000 and my D600 even more but that D90 will take some excellent pictures. In my opinion my D90 was one of the greatest cameras I have owned.

I have heard that from a lot of people... in fact I still see people on here buying them... That speaks volumes..
