Barbra, I saw this visitor from Canada just down the road from my house this morning so I stopped and took a picture of it JUST FOR YOU!!!

Very true. I recently loaned mine to a friend so I went back to the 18-105. Couldn't believe how much lighter it was. Needless to say, the difference was self evident when I saw the results. Worth the extra weight.

I'm excited because at 7:30PM the UPS came with my new Nikon D600, lens, and grip. I am declaring tomorrow as an official "Go out and shoot Day".

Waiting on the UPS / FedEx driver to deliver a package is the longest wait in the world. We are looking forward to see some truely great photographs. I will PM you my mailing address so you can ship the D7000 to me now that you won't need it anymore.

Please read this first!!!! This is just a test picture with my new D600 and Tamron 24-70 lens. Both of the pictures on the mantle were almost black from where I took this picture and the little carved figures could not be seen at all with your eye due to how dark it was in the room. The camera was set to all default settings and nothing was done to this picture except to re-size so I could post it.

Distance away 18ft
Shot handheld
1/10 sec shutter
ISO 6400
F2.8
70mm

I was impressed pat with the results it gave me right out of the camera. By the way my den doesn't normally look like this. My son and his two kids are staying in that room for a little while until they find a house to move in to.

It was raining today so I was driving around shooting things out of my car window. I spotted this in the edge of the woods and thought it looked nice but I have no idea what it is. D600 with 70-200VR lens

Another flower from my rainy day photo session. Don't know what this is either but I spotted it just off the road so I put down the window and took a shot. This blue flower is smaller than a fifty cent piece. Taken with D600 and 70-200VR lens.
