I took a photo at 300mm with my Tamron handheld of a man throwing a cast net and then cropped out just the man out of the same picture so you could see how well it holds up. Check out his tattoo and the details in the cropped image.

We all thought it was stuck on 600 :D think its the right lens in the right hands Jeff,we would need to spend a lot of money to get better and wouldn't have the benefit of a zoom.

Mike, I thought of you when I posted the shot at 300mm. This lens will actually work at focal lengths other than 600mm, who would have guessed that!!!

Like I said, I've been bad at guessing. Stoshowicz went through my gallery and tagged a bunch of incorrect names.

If you want a challenge, try shooting at 600mm and figuring out where a fish is going to jump out of the water and then try getting it in focus, all in a split second.
