All fantastic shots!

One suggestion on posting the images - I see that you're using the original images from flickr, which in most cases are a very large file. It's difficult for some users to view this thread since all those files have to be downloaded and then displayed. Perhaps a better solution for future posts would be to link to a smaller sized flickr image.

Happy 4th of July everyone! I got to party at the Women's War Memorial in Arlington tonight. While I was taking this shot, the executive director of the memorial came up and started chatting me up. She told me to send me the photos of the event and she would put them on their website and credit me for them. She then asked me to shoot for their 10th anniversary event that is upcoming in Fall this year! Wondering how much they'll pay, if anything:p Either way, it's a great "in" for other gigs in the area and a great way to get my name out there.

Nice shots, thanks for making your shots smaller size. The page loads much quicker this way.

You are most welcome, I was silly..
I guess I should ask since this would be my first gig with a government sanctioned organization, what should I expect to be compensated and encounter during an event like this? Should I rent some lenses? I'm thinking of renting an 18-200 and the tokina 11-16 because I want to buy them anyway eventually..

My taxes are high enough, keep it under $10.

Hah, good one :) She mailed me back and told me she'd "keep me in mind" for events. Usually for job offers, this means "not interested." Though, she did mention that my firework shots were "amazing" and she couldn't ever get that type of quality out of her camera. That doesn't mean that much to me though since we all know it's all about the art, and less about the camera. Shoot, I grabbed my girlfriend's cellular and shot a great photo of the same fireworks while my shutter was open for a few seconds, haha.. I digress. I don't know what to expect out of her at this point though..

hope they had one mic phase inverted. lol or they'll get phase cancellation on the track. I've never seen two condenser mics set up like that for recording vocals. I've used two pencil mics perpendicular to avoid phasing while recording instruments .

nice shot there by the way.

I'm not afraid . . . YOU WILL BE. . . YOU WILL BE. . .

Actually, we ended up only using one mic, i was just trying to find which sounded best on her. Turned out, the cheaper one was the warmest. go figure.

Sonia 3 is just terrific. I love the effect of the lights and the clarity of her face.
Nice
