No wonder the trains and city shots do not look familiar to me. You are further down South from where I live.

If you can stick around until the first week of April, that's when the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom.

Already back in Australia Glen but we were in Japan last April/May, missed the 2013 Tokyo cherry blossom season by a couple of weeks but saw the cherry blossoms in the south. We were pretty thrilled as we had missed them on previous trips.
