Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

Been a busy week shooting 9th graders on a 5 day field trip called The Academy of Leaders. They had great speakers and even more team building activities. Some of the students really got a lot out of it. Here is one picture that shows just how super some of the kids are.

OK, I am stepping way outside my comfort zone and trying something brand new. I really like some of the "Out of Bounds" photos and have been trying to figure out how to do it. This is as close as I have gotten so far. Now tell me how to make it better.

Don, your Composition is off in the above shot, stand back further and you will get the train in.

You know Don, I think this one has a lot of potential. I think it doesn't work as well in this case is because your background perspective is reversed. If the left of the picture was to be smaller than the right side it would pop more. i' be really curious to see it with the perspective reversed.

I was just going to say the same thing! ;) The angle of the background needs to go the other way. Nice job though especially for learning a new concept! :)

Don, would you consider posting the original photo so I can play around with it a little? The only other time I used that feature was for that other photo someone else posted. I actually didn't experiment with too many of the Out of Bounds options. I think I used some type of edge shading to make the photo's border 'pop' more. That might make the image a little more dramatic. I also used some type of 'noise' option which was perfect for that other photo. The 'noise' almost looked like the girl was playing with snow or confetti. It would be interesting to see what other options are available. ;)

Did you see today's shot? http://nikonites.com/project-365-daily-photos/11298-dons-daily-dabblings-80.html#post204264 Has an elephant walking into the shot instead of walking out of the shot.
