Wasn't completely happy with Mr. Bee in previous shot so I changed the lens and went back out and tried again.

I used the 18-105 in the first picture and then went in and got the 40mm Macro for the next ones

That 18-105 can do a good job at most things. But bug shots I have found just isn't one of them!

I had never tried it so it was worth a shot. All I had to do was to walk out the front door so nothing ventured nothing gained. Well not quite, I did learn that the 18-105 is not good for bee shots unless that is all you got.

Went to a preseason football game tonight for the high school where my wife teaches. I included the moon in the shot for reference. The next shot is the moon from where I was sitting.

What lens did you use for the moon shot? More than 300mm, looks like.
I'm really impressed with the detail you were able to get, especially in that setting.
