Don's Old Daily Dabblings

Re: Don's Daily Dabblings

nice shots Don, the injuries look like they are behind you

Still limited on what I can do. Still can't raise the right arm over my head. And no weight. I got permission from the doctor to lift the camera as long as I took it easy. It was quite funny. He said I could just put the camera on a tripod and shoot. Not sure what and where he thought I would be shooting. I did not educate him though.

Well, I have tried several time to get a decent shot of the moon. I set up the tripod, get the remote release the whole nine yards. Tonight I grabbed my camera and pointed it at the moon and shot. No tripod, no release cable. Just me. I shot two frames. Here is the second one.

Ok, I was shooting when this helicopter flew over. I grabbed two quick shots. Not a particularly great shot but I noticed That on one of the shots there was this extra something.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's either a bird that flew by real fast when you snapped the photo or someone who complained about the in-flight service!

I gave up on the tripod when taking moon shots. I have a very good and capable 70-300 with VC and i just hand hold the camera. Spot meter, low ISO, fast shutter speed and an aperture of about F8-11. It has never failed.

This night there actually was a thin haze over the moon. I really did not think I would get it. I think that is why I had to use ISO 1600 and @5.6 1/250sec. Very little post processing other than cropping and a little added contrast.

I read all the posts and try to learn a little more each day. Spot meter and single point focus worked better than I though it would. I am real please with the capability of the D5100.

It's flying and we don't know what it is so = UFO

I took the liberty of sending the photo to Project Bluebook at the USAF.

Now, there's 2 guys in suits parked outside my house. They're wearing sunglasses and it's not that bright out.
