Today's shot is awesome. Nice colors and composition, smooth foreground bokeh, great background. Wall hanger!

Thanks man. That 50 1.8D still hasn't let me down yet! And it is just one sweet ride on the D610. Just about perfect for a walk around. Just wide enough in FX and with a quick button push and dial turn a great portrait in DX mode.

Great pictures Doug! I'm glad winter is over here in the UK.... It's the first winter I can remember where we have had not one snowflake drop!

Thanks Steve! I don't mind the snow that much, but this year was ridiculous. But it is a pretty sight. Quite a shock seeing green grass underneath though.

We are getting back to the 60-70's now. Time for me to go back to chasing the local Bluegill and Carp with my fly rod! So stoked!

We had about 10min of snow a few weeks ago but thats all

Thanks for rubbing it in. LOL. I don't know what I would do in a winter without snow. Oh....wait.....keep on fishing. Can you tell its time for me to wet a line again.

Anyone know a good camera for fishing trips? I will not risk my Nikons in nipple deep muddy water.

This is a Black Wooly Bugger. But when in close to a man dyed substance, its actually blue! Not black!

Hook (1 of 1).jpg

Ah a blank canvas!

Thread Base (1 of 1).jpg

To that we add some thread....

Dubbing (1 of 1).jpg

To the thread we add dubbing material....

Abdomen (1 of 1).jpg

Spin the dubbing onto the hook...

Wing Feather (1 of 1).jpg

Next select a feather.....

Tying in Hackle (1 of 1).jpg

Tie in the feather....

And then you spin....add more dubbing....spin the dubbing on the hook....and you get.....

The finished flying ant (1 of 1).jpg

Something that looks yummy to a fish. (hopefully) And yes I skipped steps, But you got the idea from the previous photos.

And I am no means a great fly tier, I am not really even good. But I am getting better, and besides.....they still catch fish!!

I used to do a lot of photography with a friend who tied his own,and taught night school for it,lost count of the amount of times we had to pull over in the car and start stripping certain things off different road kill.

Can't pass up free materials! I don't do that unless by myself tho. Most people don't nor care to understand.
