Nice shots! How do you like LR mobile? I'm trying to get it to work on my iPad, but I can't seem to. Does it require you have a Creative Cloud subscription?

I believe you do. You have to sign in to Lr with your adobe ID and password. Then create a collection and save it for upload. But I believe the CC is required.

Darn. I just outright bought LR a few months ago. Suddenly CC seems like a decent idea simply because I could use my iPad for editing, which would make travel photography super easy.

I had LR and later decided to do the CC option for 9.99 a month. Its worth it and if you cancel your LR is still yours, so not all is lost. I confirmed with that with Adobe when I called them. If you do sign up for CC, make sure to go to your profile and enter the license for LR or at least make sure its there.

I also had LR. But then did the CC. I have started to do a lot more in the Ps CC than I thought I would.

Today is the photo shoot! Excited! Can't wait to see what happens. Somewhat windy today but hopefully things will calm down by 4pm.

Re post. had a DUH moment.

I don't think I did too bad. I really need to start learning about this portrait stuff though. Was fun giving it a shot.

Heyhey, thats good!
I love the way you got the sun on the back of his head on the first one, shadows look really nice and he is still perfectly exposed in his face. A little more vibrance/saturation maybe? And I would have placed the car further from the background (looks like you used f/4.8?).

Second one I think it spot one :) Nice expression, lovely colors, very good dof.

Wished I could. But the location was limited to a park near the church he and his family go to. He plays in the church band. At 4.8 I was wide open with my kit lens. I need to invest in some true portrait lenses.

I left the 50 on the D90 for the close in stuff. It worked great. My 24-85 was on the D610. I am finding the lens just a bit soft when using anything but the center focus point.

Ah, doesn't sound like you could get further from the bg. My 70-200 are a bit soft too.. some just are, I think. But your images doesn't look soft to me.

Also I think the guy looks relaxed and good in that position.

The thing that made it harder was the fact I had to include the vehicles. It was hard to balance distance to fit a car/truck, but still get good facial structure. It was still a blast and I had a ton of fun.

Those are pretty good!I like the way the car got included in the first one. I feel like it was a very nicely composed photo. The second one is bang on. Nice work.
