Thanks! The lighting was a tough one for me yesterday. I had a haze of cloud cover and then heavy tree cover. Made everything seem washed out.
The D90 seemed to struggle some with the WB. Auto washed it out and the Daylight and Cloudy selections...didn't help much either. Was still a fun time though.

If this tree ever comes down, some woodturner would love that piece!
There are a few other trees like that in the area. But so far this is the biggest.
Unfortunately I doubt anyone could get their hands on it. Once a tree goes down its dragged off the path and left for the woods to reclaim. The parks service/forrestry service does a pretty good job of protecting the area and getting out of the way of nature.
