Haaaaa, that is a good idea. I used to know Morse from when I studied for my HAM license, but that was many, many years ago.

For what it is worth, I upgraded from my 10+ year old D200 to a D7200 and could not be happier. The transition from D200 to D7200 was pretty easy, so should be true also from your D300. The only real advantage of the D500 is for action/sports photography and judging from your photos, you don't really need the specialized D500 for almost twice the money.
what about the D750? I was back and forth with that and the D500?
Yes, that is the full-frame contender. What made you decide on the D500 opposed to the D750?
