Please let me know because I was wondering if it was worth me getting a ball head for my tripod for this use. I have a monopod and rarely use it. For me at least I am not sure that a monopod with ball head would work, but a tripod probably would

Will do. I may trek down to the park this week and test it out. May only be geese around, but it'll give me a clue as to it's effectiveness on a tripod for BIF.
