My Christmas present from the winery I do product shoots for finally arrived! Shipping delays of course. They told me to consider it a Valentine's Day gift now, lol.

Ice storms last night meant I couldn't get out of the house this morning. The driveway was a regulation NHL rink - and sloped. So ya do what you gotta do, right? Took these from just inside the garage (although the ice crystal shot is one of the garage windows before I opened the door. I thought it was a pretty pattern). Figure I'll enter one in the B&W challenge for this week.

Edit: I just saw the challenge is for B&W Landscapes. Oh well. Maybe I'll put my skates on and go see if I can find one....

Ha! Finally managed to get out of Ice Station Driveway, just under the wire (I hope) to snap some entries from roads around my house for the B&W Landscape challenge. I have to admit, I'm not sure I posted the best of my bunch. But there only moments to go before the challenge ended, so I just processed and entered the first pic that popped up in Lightroom!

The batch, in no particular order:

This week's challenge was "Make a crummy thing look good", or words to that effect. Took me a while to come up with something, mostly because I was kicking around so many ideas. Lump of dirt in a light tent, with dramatic side lighting? A toothpick on a pedestal, with little dolls looking up at it admiringly? A Q-tip held in my wife's teeth, like a flamenco dancer with a rose?

In the end, I decided on making a trash bag look like couture. My wife, who is a great sport, was all for it - as long as I let her fashion the bag into a dress. She did a great job, cutting part of the red draw ribbon and attaching it to another end to look like a bow. Then sat her in front of her vanity and took some shots, and a few standing as well. Had natural light on this one, but ended up having to add an overhead halo light because the windows were set low enough that she was just getting side light and it didn't look good.

The first one was my challenge entry.

Hahaha!!! You are so funny ...
There are so many cheaper things to have at home.
I can tell you after 41 years with the same expensive lady.

Dangerspouse, you are still living dangerously!! What happens if one of your wife's female friends can read and sees this other bag comment!! It,s been nice knowing you. :shame:

LOL! Very good point there, Brent!

But in all honesty, she is very VERY used to my often derisive humor. We met when I was a jock on a Morning Zoo radio show, after all. If that didn't put her off, nothing I could say since ever would!

And on a side note: ever since she married me, she hasn't had any friends. I'm sure there's no connection, though
