Mine shipped Thursday and was delivered Friday. In my experience it takes them 1-2 business days after receiving it before sending out an email acknowledging that it's started the maintenance process.

Do you know if it is also available for Europe D600 owners?

Yes it is. I spoke to Nikon here in the UK. I purchased mine from Hong Kong, and they had no issues. I've not sent mine in yet as I want it for a holiday in 2 weeks time, I received the info to send it off and told them I would send it in 4 weeks time when i was back from holidays...

I believe the recall is world wide for all D600s.

Below is the email they sent me with links..

Hi Douglas,

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us.

I suggest that you send the equipment directly to our Service Department for checking and possible repair. Note that the turnaround time is generally between 2 and 4 weeks - depending on part availability or parts, testing requirements, etc.

Please register the equipment for repair via the URL listed below. Once you have completed the form you will receive an email advising you to print a service returns label which entitles you to free postage through your local postal service. The return address will be included on the label.

Request a Repair Service from Nikon:

@BackdoorHippie, I can't remember for sure, but didn't we have to access our account to find out the status of the repair--such as where it was and what was being done? And am I correct in remembering Nikon didn't send an email when the camera was shipped back? What I DO remember is that no one had to sign for my camera upon its return. It was simply left at my door, but somehow I was able to determine the day it would arrive here by UPS.

You should get an email with an order number that will allow you to track the status of your repair. In prior incidents the number was issued before you sent it in. I'm guessing with the blanket return they're issuing it on receipt. I forgot to make a copy of the sheet of paper they told me to put in with the camera, but there may have been a return authorization number on there. I've give them until Tuesday and call them up if I don't get an email from them.

Ahh...the link is in the email! Okay, that explains it. Thanks! I couldn't find the info when I went to my Nikon account, but the email is on a different computer. People need to know they should read the status updates provided through that link so they will have an idea of when the camera is shipped back to them. Thanks again, Jake. :)

FYI, I just got an email from Nikon acknowledging receipt and providing me with an order number. When I look it up in the system it states that it is a no cost, "good will" repair for sensor dust. I've got no issue with them calling it that, BTW, particularly in my circumstances.

Haven't seen any updates on this thread in a while, just looking to see if anyone else has encountered issues after the fix/replacement. Just did the online request to send mine in.

I know we have 2 threads on this, so not sure which one we are using now.

There is another thread somewhere--both BackdoorHippie and Rick M sent in their D600 bodies last week. Jake said he received an email acknowledging Nikon's receipt of it. Haven't heard from Rick about his though. You might want to post in that other thread as the posts are more recent, Kevin. :)

I think most of us are on the newer thread now

Ok, posted this in the old thread but now moving it to here.

Only thinking about sending it in because this is a downtime for me, but I hate to be without it for too long. Are they still running around 2-3 weeks on these, anyone else completed the cycle recently. I know some have recently send them in.

I sent mine out Saturday. It is supposed to arrive Wednesday but UPS doesn't even have a tracking number yet. Not starting out well for me!

What?!! I live about 90 minutes from NYC, and mine was ALWAYS delivered to/from the next day (not counting weekends). Please be sure to let us know when you find out more info, Rick.

Nikon should have sent you an email with a link to print the return label, and the tracking number will be on there.
@hark, UPS doesn't "work" Saturday, so ship date is actually Monday, and I suspect the far reaches of NY state are 2 zones from Long Island, while you and I are only 1.

I know UPS doesn't work on Saturdays (generally speaking), but I am surprised that the package didn't have a tracking number assigned to it by the end of Monday.
