Thank you. It looks like she is posing, but she was actually turning around :) FYI, I just used the free Microsoft ICE to easily stitch the images.

checked out the 24mm 2.8D, 28mm 2.8D, 28mm 1.8G, and 35mm 2.0D today as I felt I needed a little wider for events than my 50mm. I didn't like the distortion on the 24mm for when I was pretty close to the subject.. I felt that the 35mm 2.0 produced similar bokeh and DOF as the 28mm 1.8G. so I'll likely be getting the 35/2.0 until I can afford the Sigma 35/1.4

my first time starting to work with different layers in PS. I might have made my first edit look worse, though... At least I'm starting to understand how to do layer masks and stuff :)

first edit in lightroom: (I probably should have added a little more contrast/brightness to her face)

thanks. your pics are beautiful as well, PapaST.

I'm once again blown away by the D600.. It's not hard to get away with shooting in RAW and not having a flash...you can easily turn down the highlights and then boost the shadows to make it look like you used flash to properly illuminate one's face without having to blow out the background. (selective brush in Lightroom).

I did use flash for this one, however:

When I converted this into black and white, I used the selective brush to boost her face a little more...

then I got to thinking that the black and white version looked so much better than the flat color version...so I did the same thing for the color and here's what I got:

I added a little different processing which may not be to everyone's liking, though. To me, this last image looks like a pretty nice off-camera lighting setup. All I did was bounce flash on ceiling with attached flash.

According to the website: "Brand New - USA Warranty"

That's a great price then. Too bad I live in Canada, well I already have one… But we canadians did not get the Nikon lens rebate that's going on in the States… I was kind of hoping.
