D400 to be announced in September 2015

I'll probably eat crow in a few months, but it seems to me that everyone waiting for a D400 is like waiting for a Beatles reunion. Even if it happens, it won't be the same. Time has moved on. Why should Nikon make a pro DX body? Anyone using the last generations of Nikon DX or even low end FX has gotten used to the current layout and would not want the old D300 ISO/WB/etc controls moved. Especially if you have multiple bodies (like me). Sure, I'd like a faster frame rate and a bigger buffer, but I can't have everything and I'm not willing to sacrifice FX to get it. But that's me and I've been drinking......

I am still saving my money just in case for the D400, big buffer, ISO to 3200, pro controls and 10 FPS DX cam = my dreamboat.

Otherwise keep what I got and smile.....cause it ain't exactly junk.

If there is to be a D400, what attributes will it have above and beyond the D7200?

Hard to say. Since its their flagship line and based off the D4 and D4s probably a faster buffer speed, higher ISO, more features, more premium build, and better weather sealing. Just my guess though.

Perhaps this is the reason for the large price drop of the D750??? There is bound to be some new model to be announced.

I sincerely hope it will be for real this time. I have a few friends with money burning their pockets just for this one. If it comes out, there will be a waiting list and a lot of pre-sales. But the one thing it won't have is sensor stabilization as Nikon have way too much money to loose if they trash the lens stabilization.

Agreed. Also it's not going to be $2200.00 dollars.

Might be a few hundred more then the D7200, or even 1,500.

The D400 sounds like it will be a great combo choice for the D750! Someday I might even be interested in a D400! :)
