Thank you, Jeff. I hadn't seen it that way, but I really like that description! For such a harsh and despised plant; I think there's lots of beauty in them.
I usually don't either. From what I understand, this is the year a huge amount of them are coming out with the end of their 17 year cycle. The lake that I took this picture sounds as loud as our active woodworking shop. There are thousands of them out right now. Hundreds of empty skins and even a load of live ones buzzing around.
