Day #83 Mar. 23

Thankfully I have Charlie to get a picture of when other critters aren't out and about. Ha!
On our daily walk, he is prowling through the desert.

And to keep some variety, an Old Crow

Day #87 Mar. 27 (Easter)

Today was a mixed bag type of day. Not many photos attempted.
But a little bit of playing with NIK Tools (Really not much of that either.)
I love my mountains that surround and I enjoy the green from some of the neighbor's fields.

The same photo after processing with HDR EfexPro (Nik Tools) I really think I like the original better than this one. I also noticed a spot on the sensor in this one. I guess I will have to do some cleaning.

The only Easter Bunny I could get a 1/2 decent shot of.

On the way to church, I saw this Ultra-lite. There is a little hobby air strip a few miles from me where a few experimental and ultra-lite planes fly. The only problem is that they like to fly Sunday mornings and I am usually about 20 miles away in church. Today I got this shot from the car as we "flew" by. Ha!

Walt you need to stop by after church and get them to take you up for a ride.... talk about some photo opportunities!
By afternoon the wind usually picks up and they are through with having their fun. Ha! You did get my wheels spinning however. I know a guy who has his own plane and.......
I haven't talked to him in a year or so, but I might have to try to get into his social calendar again. Ha!!

Day #89 Mar. 29

Today was almost a bust in the photography department. I had to work for a change, so tonight I remembered that I was behind the eight-ball in getting a shot.
Played with a flash a little.

Some of the tools that occupied my day.

And a little something to relax with.

Day #90 Mar. 30

This is getting to be a bad habit. I had to work again today, so I only had a chance to capture a couple of birds.
An old Crow flying by.

And a Male Vermilion Flycatcher that was about 300 miles away, so a very cropped image.

Day #91 Mar. 31

Today was much more accommodating for photography. I had time and the subjects provided during the day were fun.

A Pygmy Owl (I think) was one of the first things that flew out from a fence line along my walk.
It landed in the neighbors field and watched me take its picture a few times.
3-31-16-cr__D7K2642.jpg

Then it flew over to a mesquite branch and let me get a couple of more shots.

Later on my walk, I spotted this little guy. It is a Green-Tailed Towhee (Thanks to Dawg Pics for the ID of this bird.)

Thanks @mikew. The owl was a surprise to see and it didn't seem to be too interested in heading off too far for awhile. I caught a couple in flight as it moved around, but none of them were in decent focus.

Some times there is no sense in them,i was shooting the chaffinch the other day and a dunnock landed 6ft away from me and sat preening

@cwgrizz Walt, I am jealous. I have always wanted to see a Pygmy Owl, and really would love to photograph one. I hope you are printing and framing one of those shots. Nice job!

I keep guessing if it is really a Pygmy or a Burrowing Owl. I am definitely not an expert. Ha! I saw it again today in the same place. I haven't checked to see if I got any decent shots of it today or not.

Thanks Roy, That was as close as I could find, but I really didn't think it was correct. I looked online and in the Merlin APP without finding anything that I would swear it really was. Throwing the name out there, however, may get others jumping on the ID of it. Ha!
