Day #65 Mar. 5

Today started out not looking too good for pictures. This bird was a "get something for the day" type photo.

And then later in the day, I got this bird. Spring has sprung, if the new budding leaves are any indication. If history repeats itself, we will have a hard freeze or two that will knock back the fresh leaf growth. Hmmm!

Yep! It's one of those "none of your business" birds. Ha! Actually, no, I didn't look it up either. Probably a Say Phoebe or something like that.

@Roy1961 And just because I was already looking in the Merlin ID, I think the second bird is a Brewers Sparrow. (Don't forget, I am not a "Bird Watcher". I only take photos of them because they are convenient. Ha!)

I hear you Walt, i was out with birders today, i said look theres a belted kingfisher, i was feeling good, one lady said yes thats a nice female, wasnt even pink, how did she know. ..lol

Day #66 Mar. 6

A Eurasian (Collared) Dove

A shot that I am fairly pleased with. Some Gambels Quail in flight. Usually they are gone in the brush before I can get the camera up or they end up out of focus. Today they caught me off guard, but stayed in a relatively open space just long enough to throw up the camera and snap a shot. I got lucky as far as focus went. Ha!

Day #67 Mar. 7

Today was a slow picture day. Windy, overcast and ..... income tax preparation time.

I tried to get a better angle on this Sparrow, but it kept the bush branches directly in the background.

Eurasian Dove on a wire with the only blue sky of the day in the background.

And one more attempt at a Eurasian Dove in flight.

Day #68 Mar. 8

Another overcast day with not much time for photography.
This guy's color caught me eye. I couldn't get close to him. He kept trying to stay just a little flight out of range. This was the only shot I got of him and it is cropped big time! Ha!

This is a Dove in flight and the storm clouds show what the day was like most of the day.

I had to make a run to the neighbors and thought I would check up on the nesting owls.

Day #69 Mar. 9

This first shot is not the best, but I like the angle of the Dove landing on the wire.

This guy was trying to "Air Dry" after getting a bath (Just guessing).

A lock found locking a barbed wire gate.

This guy was sitting in the same place earlier in the day. The light was bad and many shadows. I did shoot a few pictures then, but really didn't like them. Later on while going out for the mail, I saw him jump up off the ground and land in the same spot. Lighting still wasn't good, but better. Possibly a Coopers Hawk.

I had to go back to the neighbors house to finish up a job and I had seen my Great Horned Owls in "Their" tree earlier in the day, so the camera came along to get a few shots.
One on the nest and one watching the area.

I Played around with some off camera flash this afternoon. It was more of an exercise to see how different manual settings and flash location would effect the shot. After about 50+ shots, I found I still have a lot to learn. LOL
This is something that I made for my dad some years ago before he passed away. The story is that I wanted to get him something for his birthday. My dad was one who didn't have many wants or needs so he was hard to buy for. He did like to keep some magazines in his bathroom, but they were just thrown in a basket under the sink. I felt he needed something better, so this was what I came up with. The more I thought about creating it the more it evolved. Ha!!
