Confession is good for the soul.....

....or so I have been told. I have also always heard the truth will set you free! In the twelve step programs you first need to admit you have a problem. Well I don't think it is a problem but here it is (add drum roll here). I am a cell phone camera junkie. There I said it. I have been one for over three years. Last year my neighbor even caught me teaching a cell phone photo class at the local library.

Well this week I upped the ante and bought the Samsung Galaxy S4. It has a 13 MP rear camera (insert Tim the Tool Man grunts here) and a 2 MP front camera. 13 MP!!! My first digital was only 4! It also had some preloaded editing tools. I of course needed a better editing fix so I downloaded some more including the Photoshop Express app. This way I can post process on the go.

I, of course, would never give up my Nikon (but that another 12 step program). As with everything this has it's place. I even have a photojournalist friend (name withheld to protect the innocent) who shoots about 50% of his newspaper pics with a cell phone. He does use a Nikon the rest of the time. And truth be told we both belong to a Cell Phone Photo Facebook page.

So now it's your turn to let us know if you have a problem. Just step forward and say "Hi I'm (state your name) and I'm a cell phone camera junkie! And tell us your story.

As Dr Frazier Crane would say "I'm Listening"

Your post made me laugh, Alan! Thank you for that.

I can't really call myself a cell phone camera "junkie", BUT . . .

1. I caved in to the craze and bought an ipad. Once I got used to the "limitations" of the environment, I like it. At least I don't have to lug around a laptop and the Kindle reader is wonderful! I may not have to build another room for books. As far as the camera, both the still and video suck! But, ok in a pinch.

2. Six months ago I decided to get rid of my Droid smart phone . . . hated it, including the camera. so I went back to a "data plan free" flip phone.

3. Two days ago, Verizon lured me back with an offer that was difficult to refuse (because I love playing with technology) so I got an iPhone 5. So, guess what I'm playing with? . . . the camera!

I would never give up my Nikon . . . I still print photos and mount them in albums or frame them. But in terms of being readily available (in your pocket) and the ability to take photos "stealthily" is a nice bonus.

I believe in having as many options available.

Ohhhhh... Techno nerd, that's a confession for another day. You are not alone :encouragement:

As I sit in my family room watching my HD TV I see two laptops, two Nook Color e-readers, two Google 9" HD Tablets and my smartphone (which I can use to control the TV). Good thing I can't see the car from here as it all but drives it's self.

The best part is we can tell our grand kids we are older than the internet!

I have all Harmony remotes for my TVs. The one in the Bedroom had to be able the operate through walls since my wife did not want any equipment showing other than the fat screen.

3 laptops in the house, 1 netbook, 1 Nexus 7, 1 Kindle Fire and a new Desktop with 24GB of memory to run PhotoShop. My cell phone plan has 2 iPhone 5, 1 4S and 1 iPhone 4 on it.

Yes, I am a tech junky. I love my D5100 and will only give it up when my wife steals it from me so I can buy a D7100 BUT I shoot a lot with my iPhone. I have even been known to bring those photos into Bridge so I can open them in Adobe Camera Raw to do my editing. If you haven't tried that yet you need to.

As I always say "The best camera you have is the one you have with you." and I never leave home without my iPhone.

I bought my Nikon because I was having so much fun taking pictures with my iPhone 5!

So, as I type this on my iPhone I have one baseball game on the HD TV streaming through MLB.tv on the Playstation 3 and a second game streaming on the iPad. In site are 2 laptops, hubby's iPhone 5, the Wii, my old Nook Color, and my Nikon (it's attached to the MacBook uploading some pics I took earlier). Yeah, I'm somewhat of a techno junky!

only thing I have is an addiction to a game on my phone (Fish Live), been playing it for a year and a half now, the urgency is slowing down but still play it 5 times a day, first thing in the morning and last thing at night, the only game I ever downloaded.
