I have two brands of equipment in my house: Apple and Lenovo. The price points are pretty comparable and I have had great experience with reliability on both. I usually buy refurb from both. My partner had a Lenovo laptop that ended up being reliably unreliable after 2yrs or so.

granted she had a lot of crap on there but you would still expect more than 2yrs.

Also worth noting that the first thing to go for her was the battery. She ended up not being able to use it without it being on charge.
