For me, taking the medicine beforehand and its consequences was far worse than the actual procedure. Hope everything turns out well for you, Chris!

I've read that there's no connection between benign polyps and cancer. In other words, they remove them to make more money. Everybody who's ever had a colonoscopy has found polyps. I'm not exactly sure why they bother to remove them, as that introduces the chance of perforation and even death.

I get mine done at the VA.....they don't get paid extra to remove polyps.

I'm glad you posted. If you have anyone in your family history with a colon problem, it is essential to notify your physician. Death from colon cancer IS preventable.

I've got it on both sides of the family, so not taking any chances there.

Besides, if the transmission on my car can get a good flush every so many years ... :)

I had a colonoscopy 12 years ago, and another last March. In both cases, I had NO POLYPS. Apparently, that's the way it's supposed to be. So, it makes sense to me that if there's a polyp... take it out. That's where the phase "Smooth move" came from. Really? No shit Sherlock. ;)

Had a stay in hospital earlier this year because of heavy bleeding,it was damage i had done through constipation, had to stay in for 4 days until the bleeding stopped so the camera could see, then a very attractive young lady doctor stuck the camera up to find the damage and confirm the problem,as i said to her after it was probably the worst sexual experiance i have ever had.:D

I hope your colonoscopy went well. I am a medical assistant and worked in Gastroenterology for a year, so I know very well what ya'll have to go though. Thank goodness I only have had an upper endoscopy done, still not fun but not much prep work.
