Yup. Salt forms cubic crystals. They are so uniform because after the salt is mined, it is cleaned, iodized, and recrystallized into relatively uniform cubes. Okay, taking my chemist hat off now. :)

Thanks for explaining! :)

I had to run to the store yester day. So, I hopped out in -15 degrees and took pictures.

I was going to there too. But, I don't like to show my nerd side.

I don't worry about it anymore. My co-workers and students just chuckle anymore when I say something like that. The advantage of being a high school science teacher. Better yet, they'll tell people, "Go ask Pruitt. She always has the answer." :)

day 44:

I didn't get many pictures for this day. I fell on ice early in the day and went to the ER after work. I got home around 10pm. Everything is OK, I just wanted to make sure the plate in my neck was OK.

My work days are pretty long. We have 2 people off for injuries, another got fired, and one quit 2 days ago. one more will retire next week. This means 10+ hrs a day 6 days a week. So, you will get quick photos for my daily. Unless,I have the time. I will do my best.
