Walking one direction you could see about 6 feet of him out of the water going up the bank. Coming the other direction you could not see him unless you were on the edge of the trail and looking down at him. I had to be about 3 or 4 feet from him to get this shot. My wife would not go near him. I got the shot fast and moved away.

these are great. Gloria and I never got to see any manatees but do plan to go back to Crystal Springs and spend a few days there. It seems like there are a few places that would be fun to explore
