thanks for your feedback guys. Scott, download Darktable under darktable | the photo workflow software (mac, linux, solaris, freebsd only). There is a lens correction profile for the samyang 14mm already in the correction database!!! Completely free!

Please let me know if it works, I would be very interested.
Honestly just dragging the image into Darktable then not knowing how to correct is annoying enough. I can use LR and go to Edit in PT and it will do the adjustments. Is it worth the $25??? Yes I think so as it is a very sharp lens BUT it does not offer much more field of view over the 16-35 VR but that lens is shit at milky way shots ;) so take your pic hehe.

double click on the image and you will go into the darkroom for editing, the modules are on the right, just look for the one called lens correction and switch it on voala!

Next question is how do you save the .NEF image?

ok, the standard modules i use are local contrast, denoise profiled and lens correction. (my darktable is in german of course but i think this is how they are called in english)
then go back to the lightroom (top right yu can click between lightroom and darktable), click once on the image to highlight it, then on the right hand side you have the export option where you select in which form/format you want to export, location to save etc.

you dont have to save it again scott. when importing a nef into DT an additional txt file is generated specific to each particular nef, all changes you make to the image in darktable are logged in this file. when you open up DT the next time DT looks to see if this txt file exists and applies all the changes you made before closing the last time.
