Ok I purchased the D800E a few hours ago. I purchased it BRAND NEW from "crutchfield.com" an authorized vendor, and I bought the USA model with 1 year warranty.

Thanks guys for opening my eyes to the right decision!

I also rented a Nikkor 28-70 f/2.8 AFS ED lens to use this next few weeks with my new camera!

Abes of Maine have been in business for over 30 years,, typical NYC storefront/mail order camera shop. I have not ordered from then for 20 years,, (lately I have been Amazon/Adorama/B&H).

I'm curious as to why you are getting a D800E when you already have a D800? I think you may find that "E" stands for extortion!, lol

I dont have a D800, D800E is what I went with instead.

I just tried to, it wont let me. It has to be off or on, no way to filter it. Is it sending you emails?

Congrats:) You had D800 listed as your camera before you purchased the D800E.... so i thought you had one already;)

haha I was so pumped about it I had to list it LOL

Nikon has impressed me thoroughly this year, so has the community! Canon has dropped the ball!

The way I look at it, canon spent 3 years fixing mistakes with the 5D2 and put the fixes in the 5D3, while Nikon jumped worlds ahead! Everyone thought Nikon was lacking in video, what they were doing was perfecting their new approach hahaha.

Welcome to Nikon then. The D800, as you know, is an awesome camera. I hope that it helps you make your business even more successful. Looking forward to hear about your first impressions. Good luck:)

I was going to offer you some advise after I read through all the posts, but you did the right thing without me offering a comment.

Congratulations. In my opinion, you have purchased the best camera on the market and you are going to love it.
